PTA Goals and Objectives
What is PTA & What Do They Do?
The PTA stands for the Parent/Teacher Association. It is a volunteer organization that is made up from people in the community, parents, grandparents, teachers, and community business owners who want to help with the overall enrichment of the children at Monte Vista.
Some of the programs that have been sponsored by the PTA in the past and that we hope to bring back this year include:

Additional contributions from PTA in the past year include:
- To promote the welfare of the children and youth at home, at school and in the community.
- To bring the home and the school into a closer relationship with each other so that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of the child.

- Educational Assemblies
- Red Ribbon Week
- Family Movie Nights
- Hot Chocolate with Santa
- Reflections Program
- Family Fun Nights
The fundraisers we plan on having this school year are:
- Jog-A-Thon - spring
- Smart Card
- Monte Fest - October
- Cook's Night Off (monthly)
- Book Fairs (spring & fall)
Additional contributions from PTA in the past year include:
- The purchase of books through the Fall and Spring book fairs for the library.
- Each teacher received supplies for their classroom.
- $15,000 for field trips
- school & library improvement
